MBC Young People Fund Raising

Our young people have been busy again raising funds for charity.

They ran their first Film and Food night which was a great success.  Many of the young people were involved in making the Lasagne, garlic bread, salad, cookie monster cake, chocolate cake and chocolate mousses which were all delicious.  The film was ‘What we did on our holiday’ and they raised £240 which was enough to twin our new downstairs disabled toilet with a whole block of school toilets in Sundarpur Kharauna, Bihar, India.

Since then the young people have raised £300 for 5 more latrines so every toilet in the church is now twinned:

Likhu, Nepal, Asia

Balijuagan, Roxas City, Panay Island, Philippines, Asia

Pujehun district, Sierra Leone, Africa

Masisi, North Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa

Kabale district, Uganda, Africa

Likhu is an area North of Kathmandu; Balijuagan is a subur, Africa, b of Roxas City which is on one of The Philippines middle islands (Panay); the Pujehun district is in the South of Sierra Leone and North Kivu is in the North-East of the DRC, Kabale district is in the very South-West of Uganda, bordering with Rwanda. Click on each location to see a Google Map of the town.

“Toilet Twinning raises funds to support water and sanitation work in some of the poorest countries on earth. By supporting Toilet Twinning’s vital mission, you’re helping to do something about the fact that 2.5 billion people don’t have somewhere safe and hygienic to go to the loo. “
